As you drive up to a display of five TV screens, all hosting the same video stream, you must voice, “Accept,” to enter the game. The video game is guided by AI personas who present choices like, “What’s your favorite social media app?” or “Would you like to engage with your new following?”. Directly behind the screens, a live attendant completes the player’s requests. Regardless of whether the participant engages in the creator economy or denies in order to preserve ‘authenticity’, the engagement needs of the platform ultimately calls the shots.
